Purchased my first Digital SLR Camera

Hobby photography and pro bono work
For over four years I took photos for fun, not typically accepting money for my work. I did senior photos, nature photography, sports shots, and even a few small weddings . . . basically my camera never left my side!
2009
With more and more inquires for photos and lots of people willing to pay for my work I felt I was gaining the photography skill to charge for my work. I already had the business plan ready (I love business, and starting my own business was always a dream - in fact when I was 16 I had a profitable small business in boat cleaning!)
My husband is in the architecture field and is extremely critical when judging photos or design. When I had his support and encouragement that my photography work was truly professional, I knew that I was ready.
In 2009 Laura Borkenhagen Photography was born!

We are a husband/wife team! Billy Borkenhagen is my wonderful husband - he is my support, my critic, a photoshop master, and a photographer. All portrait sessions are done by Laura and all weddings are tag-teamed by Laura and Billy. Photo editing is a joint effort - but Billy really has a skill for design and he typically puts together the panoramic prints or anything that has words on the photograph. (more info and a photo of Billy coming soon!)
